Meet giant pandas in Chengdu, experience the city’s famous teahouse culture, explore historic neighborhoods, and taste authentic Sichuan flavors. On the second day, travel to Dujiangyan to discover the remarkable ancient irrigation system that has shaped the Chengdu Plain for more than two thousand years, before exploring the atmospheric streets of Guanxian Ancient Town.

Day by day
A thoughtfully paced journey with room to explore, relax and experience each place properly.
Giant Panda Base → Traditional Teahouse → Wuhou Shrine → Jinli Ancient Street
Meet your private guide and driver in the morning and travel to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Explore the panda enclosures and learn about giant panda conservation and breeding. A morning visit is recommended, when the pandas are generally more active.
Return to central Chengdu and experience the city’s famous slow-paced lifestyle at a traditional local teahouse. Enjoy a cup of Chinese tea while observing everyday life in Chengdu.
Continue to Wuhou Shrine, one of Chengdu’s best-known historical sites and closely associated with Zhuge Liang and the Three Kingdoms period.
Finish the day at Jinli Ancient Street, where traditional-style architecture, local snacks, handicrafts, and lively streets provide an introduction to Sichuan culture and cuisine.
Return to your hotel in Chengdu in the evening.
Chengdu → Dujiangyan Irrigation System → Guanxian Ancient Town → Chengdu / Departure
After breakfast, travel from Chengdu to Dujiangyan.
Explore the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, an extraordinary ancient water-management project dating back more than 2,000 years. Walk through the scenic area while learning how this engineering system helped control flooding and irrigate the fertile Chengdu Plain.
Visit its major historical and scenic areas and enjoy views of the river, mountains, bridges, and traditional architecture.
Afterward, continue to Guanxian Ancient Town, where historic streets, local shops, traditional architecture, and Sichuan snacks offer a more relaxed look at local life.
In the afternoon, return to Chengdu by private vehicle.
Depending on your travel plans, your driver can transfer you to your hotel, Chengdu airport, or railway station.

Morning is generally the recommended time to visit the Giant Panda Base, and an early departure may be arranged during weekends, Chinese public holidays, and peak travel periods.
The order of attractions may be adjusted according to attraction opening hours, traffic, weather, crowd levels, and your arrival or departure schedule.
The Dujiangyan scenic area involves a moderate amount of walking, including steps and uneven surfaces. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
If you have a flight or train on Day 2, the Dujiangyan sightseeing schedule can be adjusted according to your departure time.
